Bangalore or Bengaluru’s upmarket Mantri Mall has snazzy police booth manned by a solitary cop.
India’s first and only Remote FIR center. Anyone living within the limits of Bengaluru city ( Mahanagara Palike) can walk into the booth and register a complaint by writing it on an A4 siize sheet. This is scanned and duly sent to the relevant police station. The complainant gets a copy of it. A special cell monitors the progress on the complaint.
This is a laudable move aimed at reducing the painpoints of the common man in trying to get his voice heard in a police station.
